let it go

Here is what Lynda of Storybook Bliss had to say about the event…

“I was so excited when my sister approached me to design my niece’s 7th birthday party! It was no surprise when my niece, Emma, wanted a Queen Elsa inspired Frozen party!! Yes, we all know how the very popular Disney’s FROZEN movie has taken the party industry by storm and it’s still raging on!! It has left countless girls with the warmth of amazing music, a loving relationship between princess sisters, and side characters that have spurred their hearts and imaginations! It’s no wonder that my niece and my girls continue to LOVE IT!! They even have all of us parents subconsciously singing the “Let it go” song, lol. We have seen many fabulous Frozen inspired parties, but I wanted to create a unique and elegant environment around this popular party theme. I was able to display how to ingeniously transform the ordinary into the extraordinary without spending a lot of money and sacrificing style with lots of  DIY projects, tricks, and tips: I created visual fields of ice and snow by layering white table cloths and placing white chicken-wire topiary cages (bought at Michael’s craft store) and trees of various heights with prismatic crystals, making the layout both whimsical and dreamy. I draped soothing hues of aquamarine and white Benito printed panels, sparkly tulle, and organza that offered a serene and stunning backdrop. The organza curtains were purchased at a discounted store. I placed sparkly tulle over the organza curtains and paired them with beautiful printed panels we already had; giving a stunning look for less.  I then framed the backdrop with 2 over-sized large flowers that were made out of coffee filters + hoola hoop + acrylic gems which brought both added texture and sparkle. The 2 chandeliers were also items we already had and hung for extra elegance. An eye-captivating focal point was created by using a customized hand painted Queen Elsa that I had placed on a upside down glass vase. She stood flawlessly in front of her spectacular castle. Her castle is actually made out of cardboard and was purchased online (AMAZON). My husband stapled a wooden cut-out of the castle in order to give it more support. I then covered it in Modge Podge, sprinkled fine glitter all over, and embellished  it with acrylic stickers, giving it a glamorous make-over ;) Although this party was centered around Queen Elsa, we could not forget about OLAF, the fun-loving snowman!!  Olaf was the hit of the party inspiring giggles and fun! Not to worry, the unique Olaf piñata was not harmed and was used both as party decor and a keep sake for the birthday girl. I had talented vendors that took this party theme to another level, with their adorable and delicious sweets. The cake was to die for!! It was absolutely amazing, and the Olaf winter cupcakes were so beautiful and fun! My husband made the chocolate covered Oreo cookies, and he did such a great job! Living in a house full of girls, he understands how we love girly things, lol. The Queen Elsa silhouette toppers, made out of waffle fondant paper, were both feminine and lovely. I also fell in love with the whimsical printables that were placed in pearl frames from Hobby Lobby. This simple, yet elegant Queen Elsa party was a huge success, leaving these darling princesses in awe!! I am so happy that I was able to put a smile on my niece’s face, as she enjoyed every details of her fabulous party! I hope you enjoy it as well and can get inspiration from it!”
