Thanksgiving is one of or favorite holidays…time spent with family and friends, the excitement building for the upcoming holiday season and of course the Thanksgiving feast beautifully laid out for all to enjoy and be thankful for! Adding some autumnal colors and decor to your Thanksgiving table only makes it feel all the more special, but with plenty of cooking, baking and travelling not everyone has time for complex centerpieces and tablescapes! That doesn’t mean you cant still have a gorgeous table to complement the lovely feast with just a few simple additions. These simple tips and accessories are the perfect way to look like you spent hours styling a special setting for each guest without all the hassle!
One of the easiest ways to instantly take your Thanksgiving table from drab to fab is to include some beautiful china. Its a great way to style the table with something functional without cramming excess items onto your table. If you don’t have formal china on hand, no problem! A simple white plate with a little bit of detailing can go a long way! We placed our dinnerware on a chic and inexpensive, cream and chocolate brown chevron place mat to add a little extra something to each guest’s seat!
We found these gorgeous Thanksgiving inspired plates at our local Homegoods and they truely set the mood with their lovely details and phrasing. At less than $5.00 a plate, we couldn’t resist!
Next, we simply layered our plates with a matching napkin and secured it with a gold napkin ring. We used this simple napkin display to save time but to still make the place setting feel formal and elegant!
We created these gold napkin rings for less that a dollar total for more than 12 rings! We picked up this gorgeous gold glittered paper from Michael’s and cut it into 2 inch thick bands and loosely secured with double stick tape. A quick, easy and inexpensive solution for any host who doesn’t want to break the bank on expensive napkin rings or spend hours folding ornate napkins!
Don’t forget to incorporate your flatware! Be sure to add extra utensils depending on what you may be serving. Including a more formal flatware set up can instantly make your place setting feel more elegant!
Consider adding a simple place card tag to a goblet or wine glass to not only mark your guest’s seat, but to serve as a great way for guests to track their glassware as they socialize!

Don’t forget to incorporate something seasonal! We opted for pretty copper toned ceramic pumpkins for each setting, but you could easily substitute a real mini pumpkin as well, and for less than $0.50 each, real pumpkins are great for a hostess on a budget!
Small seasonal decor is also a great substitute if you aren’t using linen napkins! Simply top your place setting with a miniature pumpkin and have guests use nicer disposable napkins instead!
These few simple and inexpensive tips are a great way to add a little pizzazz to your Thanksgiving table without too much hassle or time involvement. By bringing in simple pieces, classic fall colors and seasonal decor, you can take a boring place setting and make it beautiful!
