It’s hard to believe that New Years Eve is just around the corner! Whether you are ringing in the new year by going out on the town with friends or simply staying home with your family, there’s always a need to accessorize!
Basic Headbands or Elastic Headbands
Foam Paint Brush
Glitter (in your choice of color)
Party hats are so fun and festive and, better yet, they are so easy to make, even the kids can join in on the fun!! You will need just a few basic supplies, all of which can all be found at any craft store. I found these perfect cardboard cones and mini top hats at my local craft store. You will also need some standard glitter in your choice of colors (I opted for gold) and a basic plain headbands or plain elastic.
Step 1: Gather your supplies. Coat your cone in mod podge using a paint or foam brush. You can also use another liquid glue instead
Step 2: Cover the cone in glitter. Shake off excess lightly and set aside to dry.
Step 3: Using a hot glue gun, place two small dabs of glue on both sides of the bottom of the cone. Press your cone firmly onto the headband. Next, prop your headband up to dry.
Step 4: Repeat! Feel free to add on extra accessories if you are looking for a more elaborate look, then add some glitter and attach to a headband. These hats and headbands also make great photo booth props for your New Year’s Eve celebrations!
These hats and headbands are even fabulous for kids as well! Not only do they love crafting them, but they love celebrating in them as well!
